Talk It Straight About Prostate

For the first time, Orchid Community Champions will host a micro-workshop focused on prostate health and well-being. Running twice during the event, this half-hour session will equip men with essential knowledge to understand their risks, talk confidently with their GP, and request a PSA test—a simple blood test that could save lives.

The Nottingham Champions are local individuals with lived experiences of prostate cancer. Their willingness to share their journeys and insights will inspire and educate attendees, demonstrating the importance of early detection and proactive health care.

The Return of Patty Dumplin

Patty Dumplin, a much-loved figure known for her vibrant personality and motivating messages, will make a special appearance during the workshops. Her unique ability to connect with audiences and deliver vital health messages has made her a household name in Nottingham. Many will recognise her impactful work with the British Heart Foundation, and now, she’s “turned blue” to support Orchid’s mission to save lives through prostate health awareness.

Lisa Jackson of Mon0lisa Productions, who has worked with local Champions for over four years, shared her thoughts on the event:

"Health is Wealth is a shining example of how community engagement can change lives. Working with local Champions has been an incredible journey—their passion and lived experiences bring authenticity and urgency to the conversation about health. Introducing Patty Dumplin as a fictional character has been transformational. She breaks barriers, sparks meaningful dialogue, and leaves a lasting impact. I’m thrilled to see her bring her unique energy to support Orchid’s cause this year."

Health is Wealth is more than an event—it’s a movement that celebrates health, community, and the power of coming together to make a difference. Whether you’re looking for practical advice, fun activities, or simply a space to connect, there’s no better place to be on Saturday, 25th January.

Come along, bring your family, and be part of something special. Remember, your health is your wealth, and early action saves lives. We can’t wait to see you there!
